Jazz is the seventh studio album by Queen. It was released on 10 November 1978 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States.
The album is associated with Queen's return to an eclectic style of songwriting after the raw rock anthems featured on News of the World, with many genre-hopping tracks (in a similar vein to A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races) featured throughout. Songs such as Fat Bottomed Girls and Bicycle Race would become instant staples of the band's shows, while initially less successful songs like Don't Stop Me Now would find a large following long after the band's live career.
Despite having some of Queen's biggest hits, Jazz received mixed reviews from critics and underperformed commercially. It reached number two in the UK Albums Chart and number six on the US Billboard 200.

To promote the launch of the album, Queen threw a party at the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans, LA on 31 October 1978. The album would be released a month later on 10 November 1978.
